Road Trip from Jaipur to Kota during Winter Break

Jaipur to Kota road direction:

The distance is almost 176 km, and it takes around 3 hours under moderate traffic conditions via NH52 and Kota Road. The route goes through scenic landscapes that you won’t be able to stare away from the windows. There are several famous resorts, hotels, and eateries to fulfill your needs and the most exciting is the tunnel route that Jaipur has on its eastern gateway. The 1.8 km 4 lane tunnel way will add to your fun in this route.

We suggest when you plan the road trip, consider taking some additional time while traveling the distance. So, you can stop to spend some time in the two remarkable sites on this route, Tonk and Taragarh Fort. 

Tonk

It is a small town situated 95 km by road from Jaipur, on the bank of the Banas River. From 1817 to 1947, it was also the capital of a princely state of British India, and several sites in this city will mesmerize you. You can visit Sunehri Kothi, Hadi Rari Ka Kund, Bilaspur Dam, Rasiya Ke Tekri, Hathi Bhata, Bilasdeo Temple if you have time.

Taragarh Fort

It is famous for its significant history of battlement during the 16th century and was constructed by Ajaypal Chauhan in the 8th century. Then it was known as the Bhim Burj. This fort is built upon a steep hillside in Ajmer, on an elevation of about 1300 feet. A Big cannon called Garbh Gunjam means thunder from the womb, is another attraction of this fort. Phuta Darwaza, Lakshmi Pol, and Gagudi ki Phatak are the three gateways to enter the fort premises, where you can find most parts of these gates standing in ruins due to the battles.

These two destinations will take about three hours and will add to the flavor of the rich excitements that await you in Kota. So we advise you to start early from Jaipur, and if you at 8 am, you will reach Kota by 2 pm spending enough time sightseeing. 1. Kota Garh and the Maharao Madho Singh Museum

The Maharao Madho Singh Museum exhibits miniature paintings and antique weapons is another attraction of the Kota Garh. 

2. Abheda Mahal

The rulers of Kota created this medieval palace for recreation on the banks of a tank. The natural beauty of the region and the wildlife makes this place heavenly. It is only 8 km away from Kota. Also, there is an old temple of Karni Mata, the reigning deity of Kota, close to Abheda Mahal.

3. Dad Devi Temple

It is a temple is dedicated to Shri Dad Devi Mata Ji, the deity of the royal families and an incarnation of Goddess Durga, Situated around 18 km from Kota. The temple is surrounded by dense forests, which makes it an ideal place for worshiping. Here you can spend some time in a spiritual environment.

4. Jagmandir Palace

The ancient architectural wonder Jagmandir Palace sits in the middle of Kishore Sagar Lake northeast of the city. One of the queens of Kota built this palace between 1743 and 1745 for the panoramic view of the lake. It is also known for the royal cenotaphs of the Keshar Bagh, a garden near the Jagmandir Palace.

5. Chambal Garden

It is now one of the most attractive picnic spots in Kota, located on the bank of river Chambal. The exquisite greenery of the National Chambal Ghariyal (Gavial) Sanctuary and the blue water makes the landscapes ideal for refreshments. 6. The Seven Wonder Park
