Kanthkot fort is one of the unexplored places near Ahmedabad, which was built in the 8th century. It is believed that the fort was built by the Kathi tribe, who were worshippers of the Sun. You can find three temples inside the walls of the fort, which include a Jain temple, and two other which are dedicated to the Sun god and sage Kanthadnath, after whom the fort was named.

Pavagadh fort was built by the Solanki rulers and further strengthened by the Chauhans, who belonged to the Khichi clan. The walls of the fortress are made of sandstone.
