1. Sarahan

Located at a distance of 170 km from Shimla, Sarahan is called the gateway of Kinnaur. Visiting this place is one of the things to do in Kinnaur valley as you can explore the attractions here like Sarahan Palace, Bhimakali temple, Sarahan Bird Pheasantry, Hawa Ghar, Nalati Stadium, HPTDC Hotel Shrikhand, and Apple Orchards.Β 

2. Sangla

Ever heard of Kinnaur camps Sangla and want to visit them? Well, Sangla is the next entry after Sarahan in the Kinnaur Valley. To reach the place, you have to drive from Sarahan to Jeori and then follow the road of Reckong Peo. For your Kinnaur sightseeing, you must add Sangla to your itinerary. This area is also called Baspa River Valley. The attractions that you can cover here are Badrinath Temple, Karcham Dam, Kamru Village, Baspa River, Bering Nag Temple, Kamru Fort, Trout Fishing Farm, Batseri Village, Wood Carving Center, and Rakcham. 3. Chitkul

Now as you go ahead of Sangla, you will find the beautiful hamlet of Chikul. It is considered the last village on the border of India. As a matter of fact, you can even find a restaurant here which is called Hindustan ka Aakhri Dhaba. You can cover this place in just a few hours since all that it has are some houses, a temple, hotels, and an ancient fort. If you are going to this place for its natural beauty, you should definitely stay for a day or two and enjoy the charm. 4. Kalpa

Once you have covered Chitkul, you can move to Kalpa. It is also a hamlet from where you can enjoy the view of Kinner Kailash Peaks. The attractions to visit here include Kinner Kailash, Chaka Meadows, Apple Orchards, Suicide Point, Roghi Village, Kothi Village and Temple, Narayan Nagini temple, and Hu-Bu-Lan-Kar Gompa.

5. Nako

As you are in the mood to explore Kinnaur Valley, you should plan to visit Nako as well, since it is the last village in this valley. The landscape of Nako resembles Spiti Valley a lot. However, unlike Spiti Valley, Nako is much greener. This place is not visited by many but you are a travelholic, you must cover Nako too in your Kinnaur and Spiti Valley circuit. If you start from Kalpa, it will only take your 4 hours to reach Nako. To cover all the attractions here, you can start a bit early in the morning. The attractions here include Nako Monastery, Nako Lake, Chango Monastery, Confluence of Spiti and Sutlej Rivers at Khab, Kazigs/Ka Loops, and Malling Nallah.
